The lump's been significantly improved!  It now has handles, spouts, and whatever other features we think we need to stick on.  From here, we move on to carving, final drying, and bisque firing.

The Grand Tour - The Making of an ESP Pot! (Part ummmm....3)

Many of the items we make here at ESP Pottery are  hand carved - this allows us to make very unique pottery.  The carving shown below is based on a South American influence.

Although not many of these make it to the website, we also make fully functional whistles and flutes.  Now is the time they are tuned and finish worked.  Note the electronic tuner, calculations and markings on the whistle as it is worked.

The pots and other items are then allowed to completely dry prior to bisque firing.  The charms shown below were made using specially hand crafted ESP stamps.

Here are some mugs, drying and almost ready for a bisque firing in the kiln.

Once the pots are bone dry, they're ready to head for the kiln to be "bisqued"

The bone dry pieces are then carefully loaded in the kiln.  These pieces are very fragile, so care must be taken.

Here's what the inside of the kiln looks like as the bone dry items are loaded in.
